Earthvine® Compostable Greenhouse Clips
To complement Earthtwine® compostable INDOOR twine, we have developed compostable clips to use alongside it. By using compostable clips together with compostable twine means there is no need to search for and remove clips before sending used twine and plant material to compost after harvest, everything can be composted together.
Earthvine® Compostable Stem Clips
Stem clips are used to secure the twine to the plant stem, providing support as the plant grows. This practice helps prevent stems from bending or breaking under the weight of the developing plant, reducing stress and keeping them stable. Maintaining upright growth also helps maximise space and airflow within the greenhouse.
Using clips instead of twisting the stem around the twine allows nutrients to move more freely through the plant, promoting healthier growth and improved fruit development.
Earthvine® Compostable Truss Clips
Truss clips (truss arches) are used to prevent tomato stems from kinking or snapping under the weight of developing fruit. When a stem becomes kinked or damaged, the flow of nutrients and water to the fruit is restricted, often resulting in smaller yields or fewer tomatoes. This issue is especially common in cherry tomato varieties, which can be more prone to stem stress.
