Empak has been involved in the production and supply of quality twines since 1970. As a market leader in horticultural twines in New Zealand, we have been able to establish a comprehensive range.

Our current range is focused on providing growers with quality twines for horticultural applications ideal for vine tying, training, and the support of vegetable and fruit crops such as Kiwifruit, Hops, Apples, Grapes, Tomatoes, Peppers, Berries and soft fruits. Our twines are available in a range of breaking strains and colours that are uniquely designed for each particular crop variety. We also supply single and multi-ended cops.

Greenhouse Twine

Greenhouse Twine has a breaking strain of ±27kg and is designed for vine training in the greenhouse or tunnel house. It is ideal for lighter crop vines.

The 9,000m spool means that our Greenhouse Twine is an economical, single-season solution for vine training.

Kiwi Twine

Empak’s Kiwi Twine has been proven and trusted for the training, supporting, and tying of Kiwifruit Gold vines for many years. The breaking strain of ±33kg is specifically designed for kiwifruit vines and the coreless spool means ends can be pulled from the centre for speed and ease. The spool size of 4,688m (3.75kg) fits conveniently into grower buckets.

Horticultural Cop 50 Strand

Horticultural Cop has 50 strands per hank and therefore our 80m spool converts to 4,000m of usable twine. Just cut to length for an instant 50 strands, saving time and therefore money on larger stringing jobs.

Kiwi Twine Heavy Duty (HD)

Kiwi Twine Heavy Duty (HD) is designed for the training, supporting, and tying of Kiwifruit vines. It’s ±40kg breaking strain means that it is suitable for heavier vines and is softer on hands. The thickness and design of the twine also makes for easier slip through from the vines when cutting down.

Hop Twine

Hop Twine is designed specifically for the training, supporting, and tying of Hops. Its breaking strain of ±40kg is ideal for the weight of hop vines and the thickness and coating of the twine make for easier slip-through when cutting down.

Earthtwine™ Compostable
Break Strain 40-45kg

Earthtwine™ is a unique environmentally friendly biodegradable compostable PLA crop support twine. It has been developed with local growers to ensure that each product meets the standards and expectations of the industry.

EarthTwine will decompose fully in a composting environment leaving no harmful residues in the process. It breaks down into water, CO2, and biomass.
